Comprehensive Medication Evaluations
If you experience chronic pain, you may or may not have already tried medication to ease your distress. The assessment of medication may present one or several options to address pain conditions. In combination with other pain management strategies, medication can be an excellent tool for reducing your discomfort on a day-to-day basis.
At Willamette Pain and Spine Center, we utilize a multidisciplinary approach to bring you the relief you seek. While diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are often effective in reducing your chronic pain, medication, used on its own or in conjunction with one of our treatments, can further help to ease your suffering so you can get back to the activities you love.
What Can I Expect from a Pain Management Consultation?
Our thorough pain management consultations include:
- A comprehensive evaluation of your medical history, current symptoms, and the progress of any ongoing treatments. By reviewing your past, we can see what worked and what did not, and move forward with a strong plan of action.
- Review and assess any current medications, prescribed by our physicians or another clinic.
- Discussion of alternative treatment methods to create a well-rounded treatment plan that addresses every aspect of your discomfort.
Our medication consultations last between 30 and 50 minutes and are designed to answer all of your medication questions and respond to any concerns.
What If Medication Has Failed Me In the Past?
Medications may or may not be effective for your particular condition, depending on type, dosage, and other treatments undergone at time of prescription. Your physician will carefully assess your current symptoms, along with your past experience, to determine the best possible treatment choices for you.
In addition, your input is always welcome. At Willamette Pain and Spine, your comfort is our priority. We are ready to make changes to your medications when necessary, based on your input and assessment of your own symptoms. Your treatment thrives on your own feedback.
Because reducing your pain is our primary goal, we are pleased to work in conjunction with your primary care physician to ensure that the medication and treatments used to relieve your discomfort are effective. In addition, we can provide expert recommendations for our patients and other physicians so that you can attain the best possible pain management outcome.
